Bid Packages

Bid Packages will be published on Tuesday August 6th, Monday August 12th and Monday August 26th in a 3 phase approach. In order to bid work on the Midfield Taxiway Project, your company must be Prequalified. The prequalification process is specific to this project and is separate from the Austin prequalification processes (i.e. being prequalified with either Austin Bridge & Road or Austin Commercial does not prequalify you for work on this project.)

Prequalification

Only prequalified companies will receive the Request for Proposal for bid packages as they are issued. Each bid package will have a prequalification closing date by which time you would need to be prequalified in order to receive the Request for Proposal for that bid package. All Bid Packages will be updated on the Building Connected app. You will be required to create a Building Connected account to access all bid packages.

The following is an example of the types of services that will be performed including, but not limited to the following;
    Gas Removals
  • Remove Gas Line, Meters, Valves and abandon/fill lines

    • Pavement Demo
  • Concrete Curb & Gutter, Concrete Pavement (Less than 5”, 10-20” and greater than 20”)

    • Building and Foundation Demo
  • MISC Concrete Pads, & Building Foundations

    • Earthwork #1
  • Volume 1 Scope - Clear & Grub, Excavation/Embankment, Lime Treated Subgrade, Flexbase Installation (6-8”)

    • Earthwork #2
  • Volume 2 Scope - Clear & Grub, Excavation/Embankment, Bridge Excavation, AOA Lime Treated Subgrade (8” & 12”), Flexbase Installation (8”)

    • Drainage #1
  • Volume 1 Scope - Remove Storm Sewer (various sizes), Install RCP (24” to 72”), Install Box Culvert (6x6), Precast Manholes/Grate Inlets, CIP Manholes, Headwalls, PVC Pipe 6”, trenching protection and video

    • Drainage #2
  • Volume 2 Scope – Remove Storm Sewer (various sizes), Install RCP (24”to 48”), Install Box Culvert (8x6 and 10x6), Precast Manholes/Grate Inlets, Curb Inlets, CIP Manholes, Headwalls, PVC Pipe 8”, trenching protection and video

  • 19” Taxiway PCCP (P-501) both Reinforced and Unreinforced, Class 2 Geotextile, Panel Replacement, AOA 6” Underdrain, Cement Treated Base (P-304), and 12” to Various depth Crushed Base (P-209)

  • Temp Construction Fence Install, Cable Barrier Install, Gates, AOA Fence

    • Fence & Gates #2
  • AOA Fence Removal/Installation, Chain Link Fence Remove & Salvage, and Retaining Wall Fencing with Razor Wire

    • Water & Wastewater
  • Remove Water Lines, remove hydrants, remove wastewater lines, remove manholes, remove lift station, install 12”-24” Waterline with fitting/valves, 8” PVC Wastewater line, and clean and commission waterline

    • Electrical & Communications (Non AOA)
  • Removals of Underground Lines/Junction Boxes/Manholes, Removal of Light Poles, Removal of Communication Lines (Underground & Overhead), Installation of Light Poles/Manholes/Junction Boxes, Communication Boxes, SKIDATA Revenue Control System, Duct Bank, undermounted bridge lighting and CCTV Communications.

    • Electrical AOA
  • Removal of AOA Cable/duct bank/guidance signs and both centerline & edge light fixtures. Installation of new AOA lighting cable, duct bank, taxiway centerline & edge lights, AOA rated hand holes, obstruction lights, and base cans.

    • Landscape, Seeding, Trees
  • Seeding, sodding, Furnish and place topsoil, tree removal, New Tree Installation, temporary irrigation system, and tree protection

    • Erosion Control
  • Detention Pond excavation and Installation, Rock Berms, Silt Fence, Mulch Socks, Sedimentation Basin with Skimmer, Install/Remove Stabilized Construction Entrances and Maintenance during construction

    • Roadway Pavement Markings
  • Roadway Striping (Centerline, Edge, firelane, crosswalk bars, directional arrows, stop bars), removal of existing striping and Parking Lot Striping.

    • Pavement Markings AOA
  • Removal of existing Markings and Installation of new markings consisting of continuous edge, zipper edge, centerline, holding position, and non movement boundary markings.

    • Bridge Construction
  • Bridge Structure including drilled shafts, footing cap, CIP abutment wall, MSE Wall, Bridge Deck, approach slabs, parapet curb, slope paving and structural backfill.

    • Support and infrastructure
  • Concrete Crackseal Repairs, Parking lot bumper curbs, MISC Removals, Traffic Signs, Haul Road Construction & Maintenance, Dust Control, Street Sweeping, AOA Flagging & Escorting, Staging Area Ground Improvements, Barricades, and Site Dewatering

    • Quality Control
